What are the main manufacturing technical requirements for plate heat exchangers?
What are the main manufacturing technical requirements for plate heat exchangers? Let’s take a look.
Hydraulic Test
Water shall be used as the test medium. Single-side pressure tests shall be carried out separately on both sides at a test pressure of 1.25 times the design pressure. After the pressure test, residual water shall be drained, and the unit shall be blown dry or air-dried before re-tightening.
Gasket Quality
a. The service temperature and physical properties shall comply with relevant specifications.
b. No bubbles, pits or other defects affecting sealing performance with an area larger than 3 mm² and depth greater than 1.5 mm are allowed on the surface.
Heat Transfer Performance
For plate performance tested under water-to-water heat exchange, counter-flow operation, constant temperature difference of 40℃ on the hot side and flow velocity of 0.5 m/s on both sides: the overall heat transfer coefficient shall be higher than 2210 W/(m²·K) for horizontal flat corrugated plates, and higher than 2908 W/(m²·K) for herringbone corrugated plates.
The above covers the main manufacturing technical requirements for plate heat exchangers shared today. We hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact us if you want to learn more about plate heat exchangers.
